History cannot be made whole by clinging to our half.

\nThe different torrents of blood and tears that poured
\nTo sustain the emanating force of life.<\/p>\n

Don\u2019t we wish life to be a perfect fiction:
\nConceived in love and projected onto a noble end?
\nPeople did die for some glorious fables.
\nLittle was gained amidst the wholesale dowry loss.<\/p>\n

The dead, known and unknown, friends and foes
\nWere lambs slaughtered for \u201csomething great.\u201d
\nHaving won the cynical raffle neither to kill nor to be killed,
\nWe owe them Life and Light from the heart.<\/p>\n

There is cruelty in usurping furious vengeance
\nAnd staging the eternal theater of hate.
\nWe want to be certified witnesses of a tragedy,
\nAnd not as re-constructors of lapsed events.<\/p>\n

History is long, and life distressingly short.
\nTo give it meaning, in each other\u2019s shoes we walk
\nIn the desire to let life bloom in vast adversity.
