The name of the Series<br \/>\nreflects the author\u2019s aspiration: Her presentation and  preservation of voices<br \/>\nthat may be at risk, easily forgotten or overlooked because painful chapters of<br \/>\n history have been closed or purposely erased. <\/font><\/p>\n<p><font style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">This multi-colored, nostalgic<br \/>\nyet inspiring poetry artbook takes us from Paris of the 1950s to Quang  Tri of<br \/>\nwar-torn Vietnam in the 1970s. And more.    The collection will reach the public<br \/>\nin the summer of 2025, during this historical 50<sup>th<\/sup> year since the  end of the<br \/>\nVietnam War. <\/font><\/p>\n<p><font style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><strong><u>About the Author:<\/u><\/strong>&nbsp;<\/font><\/p>\n<p><font style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Wendy N.N. Duong is a \u201crare species,\u201d just<br \/>\nlike the \u201crare books\u201d we hope to publish. A self-made  career woman, she was<br \/>\neducated in three systems: French (elementary), Vietnamese (secondary),  and<br \/>\nAmerican (college and graduate studies).  She was among the young South<br \/>\nVietnamese pioneer  career women who entered the American professional workforce<br \/>\nin the late 1970s and the 1980s,  after the fall of Saigon. Her career included<br \/>\njournalism and communication, the executive rank in  public administration and<br \/>\ncorporate America, as well as in law, the judiciary, and higher education.   She<br \/>\nis known as the first Vietnamese American appointed to a judgeship, honored by<br \/>\nthe American  Bar Association (1992) and by the Texas Senate (2023).<br \/>\nUnorthodoxly, she withdrew from her status  as a finalist from the 1991 White<br \/>\nHouse Fellowship competition (the gateway to a career in politics  and public<br \/>\nservice).  She chose, instead, to teach and write in a law professorship,<br \/>\ncombining legal  scholarship with creative writing. Ultimately, as the<br \/>\nfirst-born child, she resigned from her law career  to care for her aging and<br \/>\nailing parents.
