The Lamp and the Heart

Translated by the author

A person talked to a friend, “I had a lamp that was never lit, its kerosene chamber still full. Then one night the shadow came, approaching the lamp aggressively. In a few moments, not even one drop of kerosene remained.”

The friend answered, “That was just like my own story! My heart had always been there. Then one day, a person stopped by, knocked on my chest. My heart was gone.”

The person said, “I had thrown the empty lamp away.”

The friend shook his head, “Too bad, I couldn’t throw my empty chest away.”
